MEET THE FOUNDER

Harmony of Body and Mind

I’m Grecia Johnson, mental health coach, ballroom instructor, and founder of MentalThrive. For years, I’ve walked alongside individuals and families across the Mid-South, guiding them with empathy, honesty, and movement-centered healing. My work is grounded in resilience, cultural connection, and the belief that you define who you are — not your circumstances, expectations,or fears.

Wellness Rooted in Movement, Mindfulness & Community

Mental Health Coaching

A mental health coach helps individuals build resilience, develop coping strategies, and achieve personal growth by focusing on strengths, practical tools, and holistic well-being. Unlike therapy, coaching emphasizes forward movement—guiding clients to set goals, improve self-awareness, and create sustainable habits for a balanced, empowered life.

MindBody Balance for Everyday Resilience

Structured sessions blending mindfulness, CBT strategies, and embodied awareness to enhance psychological resilience. Designed to support mental and emotional well-being, these evidence-informed practices help clients cultivate balance, clarity, and adaptive coping in daily life.

Ballroom Dance to Wellness

Movement sessions that integrate ballroom dance with evidence-based wellness practices. Designed to enhance emotional regulation, self-confidence, and mind-body connection, these sessions support resilience, relational awareness, and holistic well-being through structured, guided dance experiences

Classes for Kids & Adults

Engaging sessions designed for all ages—whether building confidence, learning new skills, or simply having fun. Our programs blend movement, creativity, and wellness strategies to support growth, resilience, and joyful connection across generations.

Mindful Movement Workshops

Inviting, holistic sessions that blend mindful breathing, gentle movement, and embodied awareness to nurture calm, connection, and everyday resilience. Participants leave feeling grounded, energized, and more in tune with themselves.

Strengthening Family Bonds Through Dance

Joyful, family-friendly sessions where dance becomes a shared experience of laughter, connection, and growth. By moving together, families discover new ways to communicate, celebrate, and strengthen their bonds—creating lasting memories through rhythm and movement.

Most events are hosted in community spaces such as Advent Presbyterian Church (Athletic Building). Specific location details are always included in our flyers and announcements.

We recommend comfortable, movement-friendly attire such as yoga wear, casual dance clothing, or soft-soled shoes. You should feel free to move, stretch, and express yourself.

Talk therapy, provided by licensed therapists, focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions through exploring emotions, thoughts, and past experiences. It often addresses deeper psychological issues and trauma.

A mental health coach, on the other hand, helps clients set and achieve personal goals, develop coping strategies, and improve daily functioning. Coaching is more action-oriented and future-focused, supporting motivation and practical change rather than clinical treatment.

Both roles complement each other and serve different needs depending on where a person is in their mental health journey.

At MentalThrive, we combine evidence-based mental health and wellness practices with creative movement and visual design. Our approach is inclusive, emotionally engaging, and customized to align with each client’s unique strengths and goals
